【Our collaborating partner】
Tokyo Washi, Inc./Washi Labo Tokyo
An organization that makes washi paper in Tokyo.
The "All Tokyo Handmade" washi paper is made by craftspeople who live in Tokyo, using the bark of the kozo paper mulberry cultivated in Tokyo and Tokyo water.
The shrubs from which the bark is taken are cultivated by professionals, then the bark is processed into fiber by hand. "Tesuki" is the method of making the final product by hand.
Tokyo Washi strives to meet four objectives in its daily work:

*To help people become more familiar with using washi in daily life, be it clothing, food or living
*To make safe and high-quality washi products that are soothing to the touch
*To draw on tradition for inspiration (all processes from growing the kozo plants to making washi products are carried out by traditional methods, while continuing to create new products by adding modern approaches)
*To preserve the production of the raw materials in Tokyo and the history of Tokyo washi
