In Kyoto, we had the honor to work with HORA AUDIO from Shiga, who takes pride in making high-end speakers. They showcase their speakers in their atelier in a traditional Japanese house over 150 years old, which also has been designated as a cultural property.

Ryo Aoyanagi, the craftsperson of HORA AUDIO, learnt and worked as a professional in the field of woodwork and furniture design, both in Japan and the UK. In the atelier, he continues to create back-loaded horn speakers.

Back-loaded horn speakers are a rare type of sound system in a horn shape enhancing bass.

Due to the nature of its mechanism, the speaker needs larger space to a certain extent.

However, the uniquely shaped "MONO" speaker Ryo has designed is miniaturized with a minimalistic design to fit the modern lifestyle.
