Littles gems in the guest rooms, with a touch of Kyoto's tradition.

The notepads and tissue boxes in our guest rooms at NOHGA HOTEL KIYOMIZU KYOTO's design is a little rustic, somewhat reminding the simplicity of industrial goods.

These Kiyomizu-ware products are created in collaboration with Kahotoen from Uji, Kyoto.

While respecting the traditions of Kyo-ware and Kiyomizu-ware, they add a hint of modernity to their ceramics and porcelains. Led by Kaho Ito, the second-generation owner and craftsperson, young workers make every piece from forming to firing.

The clay is kneaded numerous times to remove air, formed, dryed, glazed, then fired.

The handcrafted pieces were heavy but had a warm touch, printed with "NOHGA HOTEL KIYOMIZU KYOTO".

These products will slowly age with guests staying in our rooms, day in and day out. One of many things we look forward to.
